crowley's backstory is mostly unknown. we know that they created alpha centauri as an angel. this is the only interaction we see with the angel version of her. there are many fan theories about which angel crowley was, the most common is raphael though, i do not headcanon that. instead, i think that crowley is the fallen angel kokabiel, who is the angel of stars -- also known as god's star.we are aware that even when crowley appears to be acting on hell's will he doesn't always seem to follow through. they pretended not to care about blameless job, but didn't end up slaying job's children or goats. they seem to do just about everything they can to avoid causing unnecessary harm. they've never found joy in the work they do for hell.at some point through 6,000 years they formed a bond with the angel aziraphale. this seemed to make crowley almost more reckless, she would choose to do what she could to save aziraphale, someone who is an angel. something that is unheard of for a agent of hell.crowley, unlike most demons can spell perfectly and write perfectly. he knows what a cellphone is, he understands the internet. he takes ownership for creating all of online dating ( is it true? that's for you to decide! )ultimately, crowley loves earth. loves aziraphale. loves the life the two of them have carved out. and though they never thought they'd get to live a life together, after seeing gabriel and beelzebub escape, they only want that.
default this is the verse that incases both seasons of good omens. crowley is on earth, either dealing with the apocalypse or dealing with the aftermath - and deciding that they no longer want to be part of the world of angels and demons. post season two aziraphale had offered her a chance to become an angel again. but they had said no, they had screamed that the angel had better have said no too, that is not what happened. so, crowley is living with it, is spending their time drunk and destroying the things that once made them happy. is mourning the lost love, that could've been. an angel 6000 years ago, crowley was an angel. they had not yet fallen because they kept asking questions they never should've. in this universe they are simply an angel, anything goes here. au: a human in some universe we get human professor anthony j. crowley, they teach astronomy and love every bit of it. they regularly frequent a bookshop owned by a co-worker. au: a great and terrible demon in a universe where crowley is not just satan's favourite because he lies about his work -- but actively takes part in creating all the terrible things hell might have actually wanted. ( this one is by request only ) au: on the run when aziraphale lied to heaven at crowley's encouragement over job, heaven and hell found out. that the two of them weren't doing what they should be. aziraphale and crowley perform a very powerful miracle together to hide each other. they are on the run, and crowley has never loved anything more.
